Description
In 1992, the Austrian writer Peter Handke (Nobel laureate in Literature) created a “play without words”, A hora em que não sabíamos nada uns dos outros [The hour we knew nothing of each other]. Once voices and dialogue have been abolished, what is left? What is left is the power of the gestures and movements of a countless number of characters, who pass through a nameless square, on a day like any other. Olga Roriz turns this play into a choreography with the help of a cast comprising seven dancers and several members of the local community, thus updating the microcosm of humanity originally imagined by Handke. A rare experiment, through which the choreographer intends to examine what has changed in the world since this work was premiered, roughly thirty years ago. Do we know more of each other today? Or, to the contrary, do we know less, even though we share the same public and virtual squares? And do we know anything of ourselves?
