Description
Age is just a number. A passion for the stage is not limited by the years we have lived, much to the contrary. Our Drama Clubs embrace that premise through the symbology of their designation. From January to June, the Drama Clubs from 8 to 88 run parallel to each other, but they come together on 25 April in a shared open rehearsal, as a way to commemorate 50 years of Portuguese democracy. And the Carnation Revolution is precisely the subject the Clubs will explore during the present semester, drawing inspiration from Fado Alexandrino, i.e. António Lobo Antunes’ novel and the show Nuno Cardoso adapted from it and brought to the TNSJ stage. The motto of Um Sonho [A Dream Play], the Strindberg creation that is making a comeback in January, is a challenge our Clubs are invited to accept: “Anything may happen; everything is possible and probable.”
